Madam Botella - Bed and Breakfast in Marseille 30/11/2006

The Motto of the City of Marseille: Actibus immensis urbs fulget Massiliensis. "By her great deeds, Marseille shines in the world".

With the Tourist Information list in hand, I found my way back to 17 Alexander Labadie and this time looked all around the huge door to see Madam Botella's name listed. I rang the bell and was invited up into her home.

Madam Botella is an exemplary hostess with an exquisite home. She gave me every consideration as a guest and was very welcoming. I enjoyed a very pleasant nights stay, a superb breakfast and could recommend her chambre d'hote to everyone.

The following morning after breakfast there was the possibility that I could stay on another two nights - which I would have loved to do - as Madam Botella could place her own expected guest somewhere else.

However for me, it all hinged on whether I had Internet access as to whether I could stay. My neglected work was calling and I could not ignore it for two more days - Madam Botella had a broadband Internet connection and we tried to get it to work with either of my two laptops. What fun we had!

We all spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon trying to get it to work. Fernando, Madam Botella's friend helped and we went out to buy a network cable. Chloe (Amanite) Madam Botella's daughter also gave up her day to help with getting it working but unfortunately despite everyones' best efforts it was not to be.

There was a solution however. Chloe also had a Chambre D'Hote and could offer me bed and breakfast for three nights, with Internet access!, even though she was going to be away for some of the time herself. Without hesitation I agreed, and spent three very productive days at Chloes's home.
